So many people ask the question, "What is gluten?"
Whether you are gluten-free or not, knowing what gluten is can help out in a lot of situations. Maybe you have a cousin who recently was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, maybe you have a neighbor who gets sick from eating gluten and doesn't even know it.
To answer the question, gluten is the protein that is found in wheat, barley and rye. It can be found in common grocery store items like bread, beer, pizza, baking mixes, etc. It can even be found in cosmetics, hair products, other skin care products and even pet food!
A lot of restaurants don't know what gluten is and learn a lot from our community of 2,000,000+ that go in to eat and ask what items on their menu have gluten in them.
